Special Olympics Suffolk to celebrate 10 year Anniversary!

Most of you should by now have received an invitation to the Special Olympics Suffolk (SOS) ‘Celebration of Sport’ to mark our 10th Anniversary.  For those who haven’t received one or have mislaid it, here it is!

We have organised a range of ‘come and try’ sporting activities in the morning for you to try (badminton, boccia, athletics, table cricket and gymnastics), and in the afternoon we have a dance performance by Project 21, followed by presentations by a some of the SOS athletes and then, finally some awards will be presented to SOS members.

We are hoping that as many of you as possible will be able to attend, so if you haven’t already done so please RSVP to Loraine as soon as possible, her email address is on the invitation.  If you have already replied, thank you and we look forward to seeing you on the 16th March

Sailing with a difference!

The East Anglian Sailing Trust would like to invite Special Olympics Suffolk to come and try sailing with EAST.

We sail from Levington Marina on the beautiful River Orwell in Sonars, which are very safe keelboats that can take up to 4 participants known as sailors  plus 2 trained crew in each boat, so you are never alone!

We sail from Levington Marina on the beautiful River Orwell in Sonars, which are very safe keelboats that can take up to 4 participants known as sailors  plus 2 trained crew in each boat, so you are never alone!

Our sailors can join in with sailing the boat, indeed if keen can take RYA sailing courses  or just enjoy a leisurely sail on the river.

While we are not able to get wheelchairs into our boats, we can hoist people into our boats from the pontoon, and our newly redecorated centre is fully accessible too. It even has a galley kitchen for drinks snacks and even meals at low cost.

We welcome individual sailors with parents/carers if needed or, why not come with friends or with your group?

Do come and see us, dates still available for a one off session or a series of sessions. Initial cost for a session is £12 per person, no cost for carers/parents..

Do contact me for more information, and look at our website http://www.east-anglian-sailing-trust.org.uk.
